BEAS KUND TREK

The trek takes the trekker to the source of the mystical Beas River, trough the beautiful valleys of Solang, high altitude forests of Dhundi onto ‘Lady Leg’ and then to the Beas Kund Glacier.
From the Beas Kund Glacier one gets  a magnificent view of the peaks of the Pir Panjal range – Shithidar, Hanumman Tibba & Ladakhi.
Since the trek is scheduled in  first week of April. most of the trek will be through snowy conditions and will provide the first time trekker the proper exposure to negotiate snow & ice
Day 1 , July-September Manali (1950m) - Solang (2483m) drive. Trek to Dhundi (2840m)
Post freshening up in the morning, board a Jeep and travel for about 21 km to Dhundi. You will first pass the enchanting valley of Solang, which is a popular holiday destination in India. Out of Solang, the road meanders along the Beas River, till the south portal of the strategically-important Rohtang Tunnel is reached. From here, you will walk to the camp site. Dhundi is a scenic spot with the Beas River filled with boulders flowing through here, and forested hills lining its banks. In the distance, you will be able to see the peak of Hanuman Tibba. You will absolutely love camping by the river, and listening to the sound of the water splashing on the rocks.
Day 2, July-September Trek to Lady leg
You now begin your Beas Kund trek, and in its first leg, travel to lady leg. It is a gradual and long climb through the mountains to this picturesque camping site. Set up tents and stay here for the night.
Day 3, July-September Trek to Beas kund
This is the longest, toughest and the most important section of Beas Kund trekking as it will take you near the origin of the river and then back to lady leg. Just as you reach a little higher from the starting point, amazing views start appearing. The place has a heap of boulders, and makes an excellent photography spot. Velvety slopes will be seen from here, and below them, fir and spruce trees will be easily distinguishable. From here, you will also be able to see where the tree line ends, and grasslands take over.
Day 4 , July-September Trek to Dhundi
Begin the final stretch of your excursion by hiking downhill to Dhundi.
Day5 , July-September Trek to Solang And drine to manali
Return the same way to civilisation.
